[RESULTS] Sigi Skin 1-Month Review

Mask-ne: Mask acne brought on from wearing a face mask – yes, it’s a real thing. And many of you, like I am, might already be facing this issue.

After scrambling to find products that would suit my sensitive AND combination skin, I came across local vegan super food skin care brand, Sigi Skin. They only have 5 products in their range as they believe that it is easy for anyone to achieve healthy skin without a wide range of products. Their products are free of toxins, and created without parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), DMDM Hydantoin, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarben and polyunsaturated oils (PUFA).

And of course – with everything good thing comes… the price.

Their products range from $38 to $82 per bottle, but given that they are so highly-raved about, I decided to try their products out for a month and to provide you, my readers, 100% honest feedback as to whether they are worth it, and if I would swap my current equivalents for them. Plus! Actual before/after photos of results.

Here’s the 4 products that I got:

1. Kalenser $38 (100ml)

Our vegan face cleanser is specially formulated to gently remove makeup, dirt and oils, making your face feel soft and healthy. It rebalances your skin’s pH level and does not strip away your natural moisture barrier. It has a unique, jelly-like texture that makes the cleansing process feel like a dream.

Directions:

To remove makeup, gently massage 1–2 pumps onto a dry face — it can even be used around the eyes to remove traces of mascara and eyeshadow. Once complete, rinse your face with water. Repeat twice.

For everyday normal use, gently massage 1–2 pumps directly onto wet skin, then rinse off.

First impression:

  • Jelly-like texture
  • Citrus smell

What I like:

  • Fresh citrus smell
  • Doubles as makeup remover and cleanser
  • Only need a pea-sized amount to wash entire face
  • Doesn’t leave skin oily or tight after wash

What I don’t like:

  • Personal preference, but it’s not a foaming cleanser as it does not have SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) commonly found in soaps

2. Dew Potion $48 (100ml)

The Dew Potion is an essence mist packed with antioxidants, such as chamomile flower (55%), aqua 3g (27%), maqui berry (3%), glycerin and licorice. It is made up of 100% extracts, no water is used in Dew Potion.

Directions:

Close your eyes and mist generously over freshly cleansed skin, on the go or whenever your skin requires an extra boost of hydration.

First impression:

  • Scent-free, despite being made of 55% chamomile flower
  • Strong spray
  • Slightly sticky at first, but absorbs quickly

What I like:

  • Quickly absorbed
  • Great replacement for my daily serum, and I use it day and night after cleansing

What I don’t like:

  • Sprays quite heavily, wish the mist could come out finer
  • Unsure if I would put it over my makeup as it can be quite sticky at first
  • Have to pinch your nose when you spray, as it’s gotten up my nose quite a few times

3. Pink Nectar Eye Cream $62 (30ml)

Our eye cream is packed with natural extracts such as peach and propolis, and it features anti-aging powerhouse nutrients such as vitamin E and niacinamide.

Directions:

Use it in the morning or night before applying moisturizer or sunscreen. Apply a thin layer around the eye area and gently tap into the area surrounding the eye.

First impression:

  • Light-weight formula
  • No fragrance

What I like:

  • Light-weight formula
  • Only needed one pump for both eyes

What I don’t like:

  • The dip tube inside is actually really short, meaning you must have the bottle standing upright. I usually have my products laying flat in a drawer, and found that it wouldn’t pump out if so or have difficulties controlling the amount dispensed
  • No visible firming or reducing dark eye circles for me

4. Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen $58 (50ml)

This hydrating vegan sunscreen helps prevent premature aging by protecting your skin from UVA and UVB rays, as well as from environmental aggravations. When applied, its light, whipped texture blends into your skin with ease, disappearing completely, leaving no white residue and no greasy film.

Directions:

Use in the morning as the final step in your skincare routine. Apply liberally, and gently massage into your face using upward motions. During summer months, apply more on the high points of the face, such as the nose, cheeks, and forehead.

First impression:

  • As a physical sunscreen, it has a thicker texture as opposed to watery chemical sunscreens due to the physical sunscreen UV filters, Zinc Oxide and Iron Oxide that are of powder form in its raw state
  • Glad there’s no white cast or greasy film
  • Not as moisturising as I thought

What I like:

  • High SPF, protect skin from UVA, UVB rays and environmental aggravations
  • No greasy film; Isn’t too sticky after application
  • Doesn’t have a white cast or white residue as compared to other physical sunscreens

What I don’t like:

  • Relatively thick formula as compared to my own sunscreen (see comments for more information on the difference between a physical & chemical sunscreen)
  • Isn’t matte enough for me
  • Doesn’t feel as moisturising as being claimed that I would skip my moisturiser and use it on it’s own; Would still supplement moisture with an essence mist
